  • Uninstall any unneeded software from your computer - especially software that makes dubious claims of improving your computer's performance.

  • Scan for and remove any malicious software from your computer.
  • If that doesn't resolve the problem, then try the following in order: Have you recently installed any new software on your computer? If so, then try uninstalling it.
  • Tick/check Run this program as an administrator.
  • Press Change settings for all users and then authenticate as an administrator.
  • Select the file ClassicRO.exe and then press alt-enter.
  • Open the client installation folder in File Explorer/Windows Explorer.
  • To make ClassicRO.exe always run with administrative privileges: I've just performed an experiment and discovered that the only component of the IRO client that needs to be manually run with administrative privileges is ClassicRO.exe (from which clragexe.exe will inherit the same privileges). If you have a problem, then it's best to create a new thread rather than refer to threads over 3½ years old.
